Trying out Double Commander as an FTPS client !! Supposed to be a Total Commander look-a-like. It is. I have been using Total Commander for over a decade, probably 2 decades mainly on my Android mobile phone device.

FileZilla is good but it can't be installed from HomeBrew / Brew so trying out Double Commander which can be installed from Brew

brew install double-commander
brew list

I use brew to install and update all the software on my system except for FileZilla which cannot be installed with HomeBrew. So ... I first tried midnight commander which is cool because it is terminal based, can be installed from Brew, and reminds me of my DOS days. I could not get it to work with FTP over TLS which is also known as FTPS. My Host does not allow plane FTP. It has to be FTP over TLS, so midnight commander will not work for me. ... Now trying Double Commander. It does support FTP over TLS I was able to connect easy peasy

How to connect to FTP with Double Commander click here

  1. click the right side of Double Commander to make sure the right side is selected
  2. click menu item Network
  3. click Netork Connect in the dropdown
  4. in the right side click FTP
  5. now click AHSAA (which I already had setup) you will need to setup a connection like I did

Now connected to the server and Able to upload a file to the server easy peasy by dragging from left to right. Make sure you double check you are dragging from the correct place to the correct place.

So far, real good. Easy to understand. Easy to connect to FTPS easy to navigate, very fast upload, easy to drag from one pane, (my local pane) to the other pane (remote FTP)

Update 11/29/2023

I found out you can drag and drop from the left side to the right side of Double Commander or vice versa. Very nice interface. I like it better than FileZilla.
