Troy RutterAHS 1992,
has recently published a how-to book on getting your son or daughter into the
TV/Film industry called Kids in the Biz. Troy spent seven years in
California working for Warner Bros., Universal Studios and CBS doing everything
from designing and maintaining the web sites for "Babylon 5", "The West Wing",
"Rosie O'Donnell", "Friends", and more - to being a writer on the game show
"Pictionary" starring Alan Thicke. In 1998, he appeared three times on the TV
show "7th Heaven", which allowed him the opportunity to join the Screen Actors
Guild.
Troy is also a podcaster with a weekly show called Rutter's Ramblings.
Troy has since relocated back to Ames Iowa and can be seen as one of the lead characters in the musical "The Fantasticks"
showing at the ACTORS studio in September. It is directed by Amanda Lloyd Julson, another Ames High Graduate and features several other alumni as well.
Troy has placed a copy of the book at the Ames Public Library for
checkout, and it is available at all the regular
online bookstores and for order at your local store.
